Just Dogs - About UsJust Dogs is me, Julie Gunning, I've been delivering a top quality dog grooming service in the Thatcham and Newbury area for over 10 years.
I am a member of the Pet Care Trust and the British Dog Groomers Association. I love dogs and I'm passionate about grooming them. Over the past 30 years I have had both West Highland Terriers and Labradors. I used to both show and breed Westies and I currently have a Labrador. I love what I do and I believe that my dedication to grooming, dogs and my positive attitude towards their owners and all my students is my biggest asset. I am very lucky to have a large loyal customer base. Your dogs health and welfare is always my priority. Each dog is made to feel relaxed and comfortable prior to grooming, during grooming and whilst waiting to be collected. I take pride in the work I do, in both grooming and administration. My parlour is fully equipped with the latest equipment and we only use top of the range grooming products, such as shampoos and conditioners. All this gives me the confidence to offer you a first class grooming service delivered with a smile. We offer individual one to one tuition. We cover: running a business, bathing, drying, handling, first aid, clipping and styling, maintenance of equipment and keeping your parlour clean. I have timed the courses so that we work to the following principle that most people, if working away, want to leave early on a Friday. (I know I would!). One afternoon, after you finish at 4, we will visit Groomers, one of the UK's major suppliers of professional grooming products. We are lucky to have them based close by in Newbury. You will get an opportunity to look at, and purchase, some of the products you will need going forward and it's a great time to ask questions. I have a City & Guilds Advanced Level 3 Dog Grooming accreditation as well as a City & Guilds PTLLS teaching qualification.
The Training School is a relatively new venture for me and gives
me many new challenges. My teaching style is very hands on; my set up is geared to the practicality of
running a busy grooming parlour on a day to day basis. Under my supervision,
you'll have, from the first day at the training centre, your own station
and your own dog.
You will learn at your own pace, building up speed over the weeks.
